This week’s topic is BOOKS THAT I KEEP MEANING TO READ ( but haven’t).
In all honesty, I could make about 5 blogs out of this one topic! My life is so busy ( as most of our lives are) that my reading for pleasure has taken a back seat to everything else.
If I were stranded on a deserted island that happened to have a library somewhere in the jungle, I’d be able to get to these books that have been on my TBR list for eons:
The Handmaids Tale, by Margaret Atwood. I love the HULU show so much, I’d like to actually read the book for a more indepth knowledge of Gillead
The Stand, by Stephen King. Every teenage boy I have ever known who’s read this book has loved it. I want to know why.
The complete collection of NORA ROBERTS books in order of publication- all 679,000,000 of them! hee hee.
The complete works of Shakespeare. I’ve read about 10 in my lifetime.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. The movie was good, but I heard the book was better,
The complete works of Susan Mallery. She’s a oneclick author for me!
The complete works of Sarah Morgan Another one click!
That would get me through the first month of my stranded-ness (!)
Let’s see what some of the other authors in the blog challenge want to read: L&SR
Until next time ~ Peg
I absolutely loved The Stand… and A Handmaid’s Tale. I like the book Gone Girl better than the movie. Some good choices! Mine are here.

I devoured the Stand. Yes, it’s long. Yes, it’s dreary in spots, but it was worth it. I haven’t read the Handmaid’s Tale yet, either. I tried to read Gone Girl, but it wasn’t my cuppa. You have a great list, though. I get how reading for pleasure has gone by the wayside. I’m with you.

I can’t recommend The Handmaid’s Tale highly enough The sequel to it came out yesterday, too! I just started reading the sequel and think it’s great so far.

Great list. We watched A Handmaid’s Tale and it’s fabulous. Haven’t read the book yet, though.

The Stand is long as heck, but is so good. I hope you can get to it someday! Also, I really enjoyed Gone Girl although I hated the ending. Still haven’t watched the movie yet though!

I was one of those teenage boys who really enjoyed the stand. I re-read it a while back, and while I still enjoyed it I found several of the decisions made a lot more… questionable than I did when I was younger.
My list is here:

Quite a list, Peg! Good luck with the Shakespeare. A few of those tragedies may require copious amounts of wine and chocolate. 🙂 But they’re offset by some really beautiful sonnets!!
