Photo of the day, day 13

DO you have an ALEXA? Do you find her helpful or wickedly annoying? LOL

This one was given to me for Christmas several years ago by my daughter. It’s synced to my phone so that’s why my picture is on full display. I must say there are times I adore having her for the ease and swiftness I can get information from her like, how many cups in a half-gallon, which I needed to know for a recipe. Or what’s the weather like in… where we are traveling that day.

Other times? I want to yank her plug from the wall. We can’t say her name anywhere in the house without hearing, HOW CAN I HELP YOU? boom from her. It’s pretty creepy, actually. Hubby and I have taken to spelling her name out when we refer to her.

Who says technology makes your life simpler? I never did, that’s for sure.

Agreed! She’s a nosy little so-and-so! She’s started asking me to identify myself so that she can learn my voice along with my husband’s. I told her she didn’t need to know who I was, which didn’t satisfy her. *sigh* Then there are the irritating times when you ask her for something and she comes up with some weird misinterpretation of what you said (there’s a hilarious video called If Google Was A Guy where a woman asks, “How big is the Serengeti?” and hears in response “Showing you pictures of spaghetti.”) And my daughter has a friend named A-L-E-X-I-S, which causes a lot of confusion when she’s visiting, if you know what I mean. But, as you mentioned, she is very helpful in telling you what the actress’ name who played Jo on The Facts of Life is, or how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon, or for adding something to the grocery list.

Thanks for sharing, Peggy! I love your idea of sharing these little snippets of your life each day. I don’t know how you come up with ideas on such a regular basis, but it’s great!
