Any one else obsessed with watching Dr. Pimple Popper on TLC? If I hadn’t been a nurse I would have been a dermatologist. I love skin. That doesn’t sound creepy, does it? Hee hee

The RONE Nominations are out and I’ve got 2 books given the nod!

Prestige is something every author dreams of. The InD’Tale annual RONE awards are one of the most prestigious awards in writing and this year I am lucky enough to be a double nominee!

In the Suspense/Thriller Steamy category, book 2 in A PRIDE OF BROTHERS: AIDEN is a nominee.

Here’s the amazing review that garnered me a Rone nod:

A Pride of Brothers: Aiden

Suspense-Thriller

When Aiden Keane spots a redheaded bombshell flirting up a storm with a sleazeball in the airport bar, he can’t help but be intrigued. When he later sees someone he’s sure is the same woman but looks completely different, his curiosity skyrockets. Before long, Aiden is embroiled in a mystery that seems to get more complicated the further he digs into it. Lexi Buckley is grateful for Aiden’s help and expertise, and the fact that he seems to believe her when she says her sister was murdered, instead of killing herself as everyone would have her believe. Clues lead Lexi and Aiden on a twisty, convoluted trail, that brings with it danger, more suspects than they know what to do with, and sparks that could last a lifetime.

Holy smokes, Batman! Buckle up for a ride of murder, mystery, and sexual tension that will leave readers on the edge of their seats and staying up till the wee hours to find out what happens next! The chemistry between Aiden and Lexi is explosive, even though they both try to fight it. The mystery has so many things going on it will keep readers glued to the pages. Brontë is a fabulous side character, even though she’s a dog! Visits from Aiden’s brothers add extra depth and fun to the tale and make one want to learn more about them. Lexi’s habit of spouting random facts when she’s nervous makes her quirky and adorable. Aiden is not without his own issues, yet he still manages to be a swoon-worthy, smart-as-anything Alpha. Absolute perfection from start to finish, “A Pride of Brothers: Aiden” is completely unputdownable!

I still cry every time I read that!

The second book nominated in my indie book BALANCE

Here’s the review for that one:

Balance

Peggy

Jeager

Genre:

Contemporary

Phillippa Doubletree, Phil to her friends, has a trust fund, thus never has money issues. To give back to the community, she volunteers at a women’s shelter which takes care of battered women and their children. One night, she takes a severely battered woman to the Emergency Room for help and has a run-in with the handsome Physician’s Assistant, Decker Madina. Soon afterward, he asks Phil out. Hesitant at first, she soon recognizes they have chemistry. Phil deliberately hides the fact she is wealthy because she knows Decker struggles with paying his bills. Before she knows it, Phil is well ensconced within Decker’s family, consisting of him, his ten-year-old son, and his aged father. Phil has good intentions of revealing her wealth to Decker, but the time never seems to be right.

“Balance” is an exceptionally brilliant story crafted by Ms. Jaeger, enveloping the reader deep in the story as it unfolds. There is a viable tension underlying most of the story as we sense Phil’s insecurities. Descriptive passages help the reader imagine each of the scenes as they unfold. Phil and Decker are strong characters with fascinating backstories. Emotions run high in this novel, and one can feel the angst of the characters as they work through their feelings, coming to life-changing decisions. A few scenes drag due to wordiness, but the pace quickly picks up again in this intense story. Phil and Decker come from different societies, but they both want the same thing – true love – and for it to work, they must find a balance between their two worlds. “Balance” is a must-read!

Voting begins soon and is open to the public so you are sure to know I will be posting those links EVERYWHERE for those of you who’d like to vote. Last year I had two nominations as well, one for the first book A PRIDE OF BROTHERS: RICK. I can in a very close second and this year I really really really want to win in my category! The competition is amazeballs, though, so it’s gonna be a real uphill climb.

More to come, peeps. For now – I’m basking! heehee

My neice took this picture when she up visiting with us last weekend. You can see how happy Maple is to have someone other than me pay her attention. Hee hee

This was taken the other day when we made a dump run with the recycling. The lady in the entrance/guard house always gives Maple a “cookie” when we check-in. The intense, waiting-for-it-Carly-Simon Anticipation look on Maple’s face was so cute. She knew she was gonna get a cookie and she was on the lookout to make sure of it!
