As you can see, today’s photo is actually a duo. But I wanted to show you this fabulous mug from both the front and back sides.
My sister-in-law, Kathleen, gifted this to me recently and it is so perfect for me, it’s almost scary!! On the front you see a gal reading a book with a chocolate lab sitting at her heels. That’s me and Maple Leaf. On the reverse side: Just a girl who loves books and dogs.
Today’s mug is a silly one I got in a gift basket. It was at a fundraiser for Foster Parents of Keene. At the time of the auction I was in the height of raging hormones from menopause and I was hot flashing 20-30 times per day. This mug was perfect for that time!
So, I showed your mine…show me yours. No theme today, just a cute mug.
Everyone who’s ever met me knows I drink tea. I can’t stand the taste of coffee and, in fact, when I was pregnant I wouldn’t allow it to be made in my house – which caused my husband a daily caffeine headache until he got to work.
I bought this mug at a Hallmark store eons ago. So, show me your daily drink-themed mug – if you have one!
So, today’s mug just makes me laugh. I don’t know when or where I got it – I think it may even have been a gift, but it has a writer thinking he’s typing the great American novel in a thought bubble over his head, and on the typewriter paper he has one word. The caption for the mug is DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR – something I think all writers have invade their thoughts at one time or another during their careers.
Now I showed you my funny mug of the day…where’s yours??
Hard to believe it’s March already! The weather here in my neck of the woods is still cold, blustery, and snowy. Spring can’t come soon enough for me. I need to plant some flowers and just be outside without forty layers of clothing.
Today’s mug is an old, old, old, one for me. I think I got it when I was in college, so a millennia ago. Hee hee
Back in the 80’s, Angels were a big thing. Why? No idea. But this mug was given to me by one of my college friends on my birthday after I expressed an interest in angels and what they could do for us.
The picture on the mug is pretty famous. I’ve seen it on paintings, note cards, note books, advertising copy, all over the place really.
So, do you have a mug with any kind of celestial being on it? Either drawn, cartoon, or pciture? I showed you mine, now you show me yours…
Lest you think I only drink tea on Monday’s when I post this blog…perish the thought. Heehee
Today’s theme is a two-fer. 1. Do you have an oversized mug? This one can hold almost 24 ounces- which is a lot of tea in one shot!! and/or 2. do you have a mug with a favorite inspirational saying? This one says DON’T QUIT YOUR DAYDREAM. Love that!!! If I’d quit my dream of becoming a published author, none of you would be reading this blog right now.
SO, I showed you mine…show me yours. Either an oversized/supersized mug or one with an inspirational thought. Or both!!!
Until next time, peeps, enjoy your hot drinks~~
Looking for me? here I am:
My daughter gave me today’s mug after she won it at college.
It has the title of one of the greatest books of all time ( in the opinion of those people who choose those things) THE GREAT GATSBY. Do you have any booktitle mugs? Maybe one of your own if you are an author??
Show me any book themed mugs you use. let’s compare.
I’m off to drink more Twinings and write. Be well.
