#LongandShortReviews #bloggingchallenge 5.13.2020

So, this was a topic I couldn’t figure out a post for: A Villain that I wish could be redeemed and why.

In all honesty, I love reading about villains because they are able to say and do everything that I can’t. Hee hee. So I don’t want any of them redeemed. I want them to stay bad, angry, mean, and vindictive. We need the villain’s mean ying to oppose the hero’s heroic yang. It’s what makes people want to read and root for the hero/heroine.

I’ve got nothing to offer this week’s blog readers, so let’s see what some of the other writers think: L&SR

Until next time ~ Peg

  2. Good answer. I like your take on it. Some characters are just meant to be bad and should stay that way. 🙂 They’re characters. They can be 🙂

  3. I completely agree! We gotta have the bad to recognize the good.

  4. I think this is one reason I struggled with this week’s topic…good on you for putting it into words better than I could! My post is here: https://jhthomas.blogspot.com/2020/05/wednesday-weekly-blogging-challenge.html

Well, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who looked at this topic and immediately though, “Huh???” I did eventually come up with a couple of answers, but you’re not alone in struggling with it.

  6. Interesting position. I like to see a redeemed villain, not all, but some.

Nice! I have a real soft spot with villains. There are some I love to hate and I’m happy for them to stay the bad guy. But there are some which you feel wouldn’t have become who they did without being deeply unhappy and you want to save them. Or I do anyway!

Maybe a better question for you would have been who’s your favourite irredeemable villain?

Yeah, if they can be redeemed, they’re not a good villain. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/05/wc-041320.html

  9. Wasn’t it the hardest topic? I was like you and really struggled to think of one. I like my baddies to be suuuuuper bad and stay that way and preferably get a suitably nasty comeuppance. Much more fun!
