I am so honored to announce that A PRIDE OF BROTHERS: DYLAN is up for the prestigious BOOK OF THE YEAR award over on Long and Short Reviews.
Because DYLAN was voted book of the month when it was released, it is eligible for BOOK OF THE YEAR, but the public needs to vote for the winner.
Voting begins today and I would be so appreciative if you’ve read the book ( thank you!) if you’d give it a vote! Here’s the link: BOTY
Voting goes from today until January 22 and you can only vote once, so…
And if you haven’t read it yet, you can do so here: UNIVERSAL LINK It’s available at all major online book retailers in print and e-copy.
My everlasting thanks, Peg

So it’s the second week of January and I still haven’t finished my upcoming book, LOVE MATCH (HEAVEN’S MATCHMAKER, book 2).
This is the slowest I’ve ever written and today I started wondering why. You all know I plot my books, so it’s not like I’m sitting here, waiting for inspiration to take over and get my fingers tapping on those keys. I know where the story is going and how it will end.
But for some reason, I just haven’t been able to get there as quickly as I have in the past.
And then, today, it came to me.
PLOT HOLE.
Yup. I’m missing something key in the story and just realized what it is, so HOPEFULLY, now that I know this I can continue writing the rest of the story and then go back in edits and change it up so that the beginning and end match.
Sometimes you gotta ruminate on stuff to see why there’s a problem.
I guess I ruminated enough for this one, LOL.
Be well ~ Peg
Oh, and if you haven’t read book one yet, here ya go: MIX AND MATCH
Divorced and lonely, nurse Jasmine Green retains the services of Heaven, NH’s very own successful matchmaker, Olivia Joyner. The bar scene and dating apps give Jasmine hives and Liv’s reputation is stellar. If anyone can help guide her through the quagmire that dating has become, Olivia can.
Architect Donovan Boyd is ready to settle down. He wants the kind of marriage his parents have; long lasting, filled with love, children, and joy. But even after a year of living and working in Heaven, he’s still considered an outsider by many. Finding the type of woman he’s looking for is hard in the tight-knit community. Retaining Olivia Joyner to help him find his forever love is one of the smartest things he’s done, especially after she sets him up with Jasmine Green.
But the red-haired, green-eyed beauty wants a different kind of marriage from the one Donovan considers ideal.
Can these two strong-willed people learn to compromise so they can both find their happily ever after? Or will their relationship forever be relegated to the friend zone?

I want to start this year with some good vibes about books – and not just romance books – but all good fiction that I’ve read. S0, today, my top 5 non-fiction books of the last few years.

So I’ve been re-reading some of my earlier in my career posts and thought it would be fun to put a few up to see how different things are now.
This one is from September 2019 ( and why does that seem like sososososos long ago?? Lol)
I posed the question: What are the 5 things you couldn’t live without?
My answers remain the same to this very day…
We’ve all played the game if you were stranded on a deserted island, what would you have to have with you in order to survive?
The routine answers are fresh water, toilet paper, shelter.
I think if you ask millennials, they’d say their iPhones and electronic devices before anything else.
But, assuming you have the things you need ( water, shelter, etc). what would be the 5 things other than the necessities you could not live without?
For me, the answers are easy.
#1 Diet Mountain Dew. I’d need to have my daily fix
#2 My skin care products. I’m not going anywhere without my RetinA, sunblock, body moisturizers, and eye cremes
#3 Unlimited paper and pens. I can’t be stranded without something to write the tale of my deserted island experience about on.
#4 Flashlights with long-lasting batteries. I don’t like the dark. Or things that crawl and creep in the dark, like on a deserted island.
#5 My Kindle, loaded with 5000 books. Hey, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be bored, so books are the best friends that you can take anywhere!
What are the 5 things you couldn’t live without??
Until next time ~ Peg

Getting there is what it’s all about, not the end product. The growth and change you experience along the way are what make the journey worthwhile.

Such a philosophical question, hee hee.
For me, it has to be to believe in yourself when no one else does. Many moons ago, when I told people in my realm I was going to be a published author, I was met with laughter, a few quizzical, tolerant, sure-you-are-smiles, and one outright “you have to have talent to be a published writer. Are you sure you have it?”
I was sure. And I think I’ve proven it over these past years.
So, believe in yourself, kids. Believe you have the power to change your life, direct its course, and be what you want to be, no matter what other people say, think, or do.
It’s said that writers should write for themselves first. We should be our own first readers and fans and write stories to please ourselves.
In my case, this is true, all because I loved my characters and stories, each and every one, and I believed others would too. Plus, I believed in myself and what I wanted to do.
Never let anyone talk you out of a daydream, kids. Believe it will come true. That’s the first step in changing your life forever. ~ Peg

So I wanted to share something today that’s been bringing me a great deal of peace and calm this past week.
About a week before Christmas, I saw an ad on Facebook for something called KIND NOTES. It was a website where you could purchase jars with different, enveloped sayings for many different things. For example, one was all about birthdays, one was about anniversaries, one was self-motivation and another was about inspiration.
I chose a jar called THERE’S ALWAYS A REASON TO SMILE because 2023 wasn’t a smiling year for me. In point of fact, I cried more than I smiled.

There are 31 inspiration envelopes with notes inside, one for every day of the month. So far this month, I’ve chosen these:

And a few others.
You chose one from the jar each day.
I’m smiling more so far this year…I think this may be part of the reason.
If you’re interested, here’s the website: KIND NOTES
