#GoddessFishBookBlast for BIOLOGY OF THE BRAIN by Kent Macleod

Today is the Goddess Fish Book Blast fro Kent Macleod’s BIOLOGY OF THE BRAIN – How Your Gut Microbiome Affects your Brain. The author is awarding a $10 Amazon/BN gift card. Please see the rafflecopter below to enter for a chance to win.

(FOREWORD BY SUZANNE SOMERS)
Biology of the Brain
Are you sick?
Are you plagued by chronic health problems with no cure or remedy in sight?
Are you tired of spending thousands on medications that only seem to make you worse?
Think that your drugs are a sham that are just managing symptoms and never dealing with the root cause? You’re not alone!
Millions suffer from similar ailments and health struggles just like you, only to be prescribed more medications that can actually cause harm, and in some cases, even kill you. The medical industry has it all backward!
Chronic health conditions and mental health disorders are increasing at an alarming rate, and yet we are still trying to use the same old ineffective drugs that can have very serious side effects.
We’re the blind leading the blind in the hopes that the next great pill will solve all of our problems. Meanwhile, the health of the majority of Canadians and Americans is deteriorating—fast! But there is a growing understanding in the community that there’s a bigger beast at the heart of the health epidemic…
It’s called the microbiome. And it’s intimately connected to your brain.
Microbiome health is brain health.
In The Biology of the Brain, Kent MacLeod, pharmacist, founder and CEO of NutriChem Compounding Pharmacy and Clinic, breaks down why modern medicine is killing people instead of healing them. Instead of leaving the problem as it stands, he provides you with clear, actionable steps to not only heal your microbiome, but to restore your brain health and get your life back.

From the book….

Everyone has stomach issues. All I hear from my readers is “I’m bloated, I have stomach cramping, I’m constipated, I have terrible gas, I have unexplained weight gain”. It goes on and on.

As we age, we encounter so many health problems, from bacterial overgrowth to inflammation, SIBO, (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), that’s your bloated intestines, to acid reflux with more and more people reporting esophageal cancer probably as a result of acid reflux. Acid reflux, otherwise known as GERD, (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is rampant. You see it in the swollen and irritated bellies of so many people causing terrible discomfort.

Personally, I too have been plagued by GI issues for the past several years. For me, it all started with a misdiagnosis, a nightmare so terrifying I have written about in two of my books. I was given 24-hour IV antibiotics for six days straight, night and day, medicine pouring into my veins for an infection I didn’t have.

Little did I know this antibiotic invasion of my body would upset the microbiome in my GI tract for years to come and it’s never been right since. In fact, at that time, I didn’t even know what a microbiome was let alone try to fix it. I had no idea of gut balance and that gut balance was the right ratio of good bacteria to bad bacteria, yet here I was taking IV antibiotics that were taking away all balance. How was that going to make me healthy? I had no idea that the gut and the brain were so intertwined, so interconnected.

The final day!

Since this tour started in December 2018 and finishes up today, sometimes I felt like a touring aging rock star: tired and praying for the last city on the tour to come up so I could get home and sleep! Well, today’s the final day of my GODDESSFISH Tour and, yes, I’m tired, but I’m a little sad, too!

I’ve got 2 stops today. One is over on Wendy Zwaduk’s blog and the other is at LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS  where I discuss the hardest part – to me – of writing!

Thanks for being such great tour supporters, peeps! And remember the rafflecopter. Today’s the last day to sign up for a chance at an Amazon GC!

Be well and see ya soon ~ Peg

In another note, I’m over on WRP sistah Vicki Batman’s blog today as well promoting another of my books, DEARLY BELOVED. Vicki’s blog is for the purse-lover in every gal and you’ll want to see the little clutch she features from me!

Blurb:

With Christmas season in full swing, baker Regina San Valentino is up to her elbows in cake batter and cookie dough. Between running her own business, filling her bursting holiday order book, and managing her crazy Italian family, she’s got no time to relax, no room for more custom cake orders, and no desire to find love. A failed marriage and a personal tragedy have convinced her she’s better off alone. Then a handsome stranger enters her bakery begging for help. Regina can’t find it in her heart to refuse him.

Connor Gilhooly is in a bind. He needs a specialty cake for an upcoming fundraiser and puts himself—and his company’s reputation—in Regina’s capable hands. What he doesn’t plan on is falling for a woman with heartbreak in her eyes or dealing with a wise-guy father and a disapproving family.

Can Regina lay her past to rest and trust the man who’s awoken her heart?

Excerpt:

It had been a long, long time since a guy’s hands had been on me in anything resembling a carnal way. My ex had decamped to parts unknown five years ago after signing the divorce papers and I’d been so busy rebuilding my life that adding any kind of relationship to it wasn’t even a notion. Besides, with my hovering parents, one of whom worked for me while the other popped in daily to check up on their only daughter, I had enough on my plate fending off the men they wanted to introduce me to. Guys who, for the most part, had shady lifestyles, carried concealed, and owed my father innumerable favors. And by favors I mean the kind that usually get signed for in blood and paid back the same way.

Welcome to mia familia.

#goddessFishBookBlast Andi Ramos and GumShoe Girl #TIRGEARRPUBLISHING

Goddess Fish Blog tours is proud to present debut author ANDI RAMOS and her new release GUMSHOE GIRL.

Andi Ramos grew up in central Massachusetts where she still lives today with her family, goat, and Boston Terriers. Her love for reading grew into a passion for writing. She dabbled with pen and paper for a long time and eventually stopped pushing her amusements aside and started developing those stories into novels. One of her favorite things to do is to hop into her motorhome with her family and write while traveling down the road as they journey to various destinations.

BLURB:

Sheagan O’Hare got more than she bargained for when her newly inherited detective agency lands its first case; a missing person, embezzlement, and murder. Sheagan’s out to prove she can hang with the pro’s, despite the constant reminder of her amateur status from an annoyingly attractive FBI agent, Colin ‘Mac’ MacEvine, who’s forced himself into her life.

How does she feel when an old high school friend hopes to ignite a new romance?

Will she be able to discover if detective work and love can mingle before someone gets hurt?

EXCERPT

As she shifted her weight, the metal walls started to reverberate and Sheagan stifled a gasp, willing the rumbling to cease. Her breathing became labored as the musty air stole the aroma of the sweet perfume wafting up waft from the suite below. She stilled her movements and did the only thing she could think of… nothing. Nothing but stare at the heap of blankets and wait.

Come on, bimbo, come up for air. I know he doesn’t last that long.

Her discomfort increased as the noise from their passion became more intense.

Ugh, that’s it, I’ve had it!

She mashed her cheek and upper body against the grate.

I just need a peek to confirm.

She pressed harder, ogling the bed. Finally, she caught a tiny glimpse.

Just a little further.

She pushed and heard a chirring sound, then a scraping. She froze in place, but the grate gave way with a creaking groan and crashed to the ground. Time stood still as Sheagan realized there was nothing between her and the floor except air.

#GoddessFishtour Betting on Cinderella by Petie McCarty

Today, multi-published author Petie McCarty is on a whirwhind Goddess Fish tour and she’s stopping by to tell us all about her newest release, Betting on Cinderella. And she’s giving us more than just the juicy details of the book, folks: there’s a rafflecopter at the end of this blog piece that you just won’t want to miss!

Here’s a little bit of BETTING ON CINDERELLA

BLURB:

Garrett Tucker inherits his grandfather’s casino empire and steps into the reclusive billionaire’s shoes as the “Prince of Vegas.” His first act is to buy and renovate a bankrupt casino in Biloxi. When he discovers embezzling in his new operation, Garrett goes in undercover. His number one suspect is the new finance supervisor.

Andi Ryan moves to Biloxi to care for her godmother and takes a job as finance supervisor for the renovated Bayou Princess casino. She discovers someone is skimming from the till and starts her own investigation, worried she will be blamed for the theft when the new owner discovers her godmother has a costly gambling addiction.

Garrett’s rival Vegas competitor has sent a spy in to ruin the Bayou Princess, and Garrett and Andi are forced to work together to prove her innocence and discover the identity of their casino spy.

Excerpt

He held up his scotch and water. “Here’s to the newest Bayou Princess employee.”

She clinked her wine glass to his. “The two newest Bayou Princess employees. Don’t forget you started today, too.”

“To the two newest,” he quickly amended.

Holy cow! I need to be on my toes tonight.

As she lowered her glass, he leaned in and gently brushed his lips across hers. She froze. He pulled back no more than an inch, stared into those wide, hypnotic-blue eyes, and pressed his lips to hers again.

Both of them holding glasses, they touched only at their lips, a flashpoint that sent heat straight to his gut. She pressed back against his lips, and he wanted to whoop. He traced her bottom lip with the tip of his tongue and—Hallelujah!—she let him in. He thought of pitching his glass into the creek, so his arms were free to wrap her up. So great had his need skyrocketed when she timidly touched her tongue to his. Blood rushed high to pound in his head and rushed low to pound in . . .

Lord! Tucker, get control of yourself! What the heck is wrong with you?

He had lost control, that’s what. He never lost control. His attraction to Andi had been instantaneous and visceral, like the feeling had been there incubating all along. Hell, he had kissed Andi in front of a bank of restaurant windows. An odd little tug pulled near his heart. He forced himself to pull back and not roar his delight when she swayed toward him. Thank God, she wasn’t ready for the kiss to be over either.

AUTHOR Bio

Petie spent a large part of her career working at Walt Disney World — “The Most Magical Place on Earth” — where she enjoyed working in the land of fairy tales by day and creating her own romantic fairy tales by night, including her new series, The Cinderella Romances. She eventually said good-bye to her “day” job to write her stories full-time. These days Petie spends her time writing sequels to her regency time-travel series, Lords in Time, and her cozy-mystery-with-elements-of-romantic-suspense series, the Mystery Angel Romances.

Petie shares her home on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee with her horticulturist husband, a spoiled-rotten English Springer spaniel addicted to pimento-stuffed green olives, and a noisy Nanday conure named Sassy who made a cameo appearance in Angel to the Rescue.
