FINALLY!!!

A question Portia wants an answer to, but one Tony isn’t willing to share, especially with a woman he can’t stop thinking about.

It’s a BIG day in the DICKENS WORLD!!! 11.4.24

FINALLY!!!

Starting today, the world of A DICKENS HOLIDAY ROMANCE begins its 2024 season.

First off, the presses: DICKENS HOLIDAY OF LIGHTS by award-winning author ( and dear friend!) Judy Kentrus.

Elise Charette’s dream to open a creperie with her husband was crushed when he was tragically killed in a car accident. Needing a fresh start, she moves to Dickens. Her new job is the manager of the Dickens Event Center and Train Depot. She hopes the first annual Holiday of Lights train ride will draw attention to the historic train depot. A number of citizens have been against the idea, claiming the building had no historical recognition, plus the event would draw shoppers from town. There had to be another reason why they’re objecting so strongly to the event, and she’s determined to find out why.

Giles Deluc oversaw the chain of five-star restaurants throughout the country. His business-driven world is shaken when he’s confronted by his brother about a property the company is considering for a new restaurant. Gile’s selfishness resulted in a family losing their dream.


Riddled with guilt, he plans to start over in Dickens and open a small restaurant that specializes in crepes. He’d visited his friends in the quaint town a year ago. He purposely moves next door to Elise Charette and her delightful children but will need a Christmas miracle to get her to forgive him.

#fridayfive 9.27.24

So today’s Friday five is 5 things I’ve learned doing booksignings.

  1. Eat breakfast, bring lunch and water. Believe me…this is important for your sanity and health.
  2. Make a list of all the books you bring, the number of them, too. That way, at the end of the day, you can determine how many and of which one you sold and will need for the next signing.
  3. Make sure your phone/iPad/Square reader are all fully charged and bring a charger with you just in case.
  4. Brings pens. A lot of pens. Even if you are not giving them away as swag, they tend to …walk away.
  5. Bring money for change. Depending on how much you charge for your books, $1s, $5s, and $10s are the right denomination.

There are a bunch more, but that’s for next Friday!

In lieu of my typical throwback Thursday post today, I want to make sure everyone knows about this Saturday’s event at the Bigelow Free Library in Clinton, MA.

Some of my favorite authors, writers, and friends will be offering their books for sale during ROMANCE WEEKEND, so come down and see/support us.

Libraries are the backbone of a free democracy and when so many destructive factions are trying to ban books, we need to support libraries as much as we can to ensure free speech and access to ideas remains allowable.
