A new mystery from #author J.M. Hudson…

My Romance Gems sistah JUDITH HUDSON is back with me today! I’m giving the floor all to her as she tells you about her new book TEMPLE OF THE JAGUAR   written under the name J.M/ Hudson.

Remember when we used to travel?

Hi everyone,

Last week I told you about the three book romance boxed set, Welcome to Fortune Bay, but today I’m excited to introduce Temple of the Jaguar,  the first book in the Rocky and Bernadette travel mystery series.

What readers are saying about Temple of the Jaguar:

“A fun fast paced murder mystery that takes you on a tour of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico!”

“[an] entertaining murder mystery … I look forward to more travel adventures with Bernadette and Rocky.”

The blurb:

Former archaeologist and single mother Bernadette Mallow is on her first assignment with Let’s Travel magazine, covering a Maya Cultural Tour deep in the Yucatan jungle. After years of transcribing her former professor’s dry academic notes, this is her dream job, but she has to do a good job if she wants more work with the magazine.

Her new partner, photographer Rocky Falconi, is difficult to win over and, to make matters worse, Bernadette’s annoying second sight is acting up, warning her something is terribly wrong.

When bodies start turning up in the lagoon, Bernadette always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, drawing unwanted attention from the Mexican police. That’s when Rocky decides it’s time to step in.

Before someone else gets hurt—or dies.

This travel adventure is an exciting escape from these days when most of us are stuck at home! You can get the ebook of Temple of the Jaguar now here:

A little about Judy….

Judy grew up in Toronto Canada and St. Louis MO, then moved to the Pacific Northwest where she now lives on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Her romantic women’s fiction series, Fortune Bay Books, is set in the Pacific Northwest. In each book, someone at a crossroads of their life moves into a ramshackle cabin on Majestic Lake where they work through their problems with the help of friends and family, and the occasional nudge from the friendly spirit of Aunt Augusta. If a romance grows in the process, and it always does, well, so much the better.

As an landscape artist and photographer, the setting of the story is very important to Judy. “I’ve painted in the area for many years and I think it helps me make the setting real for the reader, helps draw them into the story. My characters are often artists, like Maddie, the darkroom photographer in Summer of Fortune who is at Fortune Bay for the summer to work on her first professional show, and Stephanie, the widowed matriarch of the clan who is finding a new life as a painter.”

#LongandShortReviews #Weeklybloggingchallenge 9.18.19

So, this week’s prompt is a thoughtful one: WHAT IS MY SUPERPOWER?

Easier asked than answered.

I can tell you what it isn’t:

I can’t –

Fly, read minds, become invisible, breathe underwater, teleport.

I don’t –

have xray vision, bat-hearing,  a dog’s sense of smell,  inhuman strength,  eidetic memory, or the ability to heal  someone with a simple touch.

I’m not –

strong, agile, quick/fast, charming or compelling, brilliant, telepathic.

What I CAN do is simple and extremely valuable, though: I’m a human bullshit detector.

I can spot a lie coming from a liar’s mouth after one sentence.

With this superpower I’ve been able to spot con-men, cheats, narcissists, thieves, and psychopaths in a heartbeat.

I’ve known when children are lying to get out of being punished for naughty behavior and adults are lying to avoid censure for bad deeds.

I’ve known when someone is bullshitting me, flattering me for nefarious reasons, attempting to steal from me, and sucking up to me for their own ends.

It’s a gift more than a superpower, I think, and one I am sososos thankful for. It’s helped me remove myself from tricky situations and helped me shove people who were up to no good from my life. It’s saved me from being a lemming many times, too!

I flirted with being a lawyer or an FBI agent for about 5 minutes when I was in my 20s due to this talent. But I liked Nursing more.

Let’s see what some of the other authors in this challenge consider their superpower; L&SR

What do you click on? #MFRWauthor week 43

The prompt for this week’s blog is MY FAVORITE APP.

Until about 4 years ago I didn’t even know what an app was. I thought it was an abbreviation all the cool kids were using for appetizer or appointment. No lie!

Now I know what it means ( I think!) so I really am in with the cool kids. I will admit I had to email my daughter before writing this blog just to make sure I was getting the APP definition correct.

Hi. My name is Peggy and I’m tech-NO-savvy.

If you’ve ever read my blog posts – not just the MFRWAuthor ones on Fridays – you know I typically sign off with a cutsie saying and then this:

Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me//Google+Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me

I feel like I need a self-help group when I say that.
Me: Hi. My name is Peggy and I’m a Pinner.
The group: Hi Peggy!
Hee hee.
Truly though, there is nothing more fun for me to do when I want to waste ( not a good word choice, peeps) an hour trolling through all kinds of celebrity pix, holiday themed gifts, DYI stuff, even book recommendations.  Recently, I took my mother to the hospital to have her first cataract surgery and I brought my iPad with me because I knew I had a couple of hours of waiting ahead of me. The entire time she was in pre-op holding, through the surgery, and until her ophthalmologist came and brought me to her room, I was pinning.
Here’s a secret – and I’m totally outing myself here: while I was writing this blog piece, I was scrolling through Pinterest boards looking for cute apron sayings for an upcoming book about a an InnKeeper. This is the board I was saving everything to: Maureen’s Aprons.
Maybe I really do need a support group: P.A. (Pinners Anonymous)
Hee hee
Let’s see what favorite apps the other bloggers in the group like best: MFRWauthor
And at the chance of being redundant: When I’m not pinning you can find me here: Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me//Google+Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me
Hee. Hee.
