#Thursdayteaser Sweet Romances, rule! If you’ve read the LAST MAN STANDING series, you’ll love the 14 ladies in ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID~

Last year I was part of a multi-author series titled LAST MAN STANDING. 14 men who were determined never to walk down the aisle, jump the broom, wear the ball and chain.

In essence, that guy who vows never to get married.

The authors took those 14 men and gave them the perfect mate, then watched as each and every one of them fell in love and changed their mind…and their lives.

My addition to the series was CHANCE – Book 12.

CHANCE had a lot of admirers: reviews

This year, those same authors have joined together to bring you the ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID series, 13 gals looking for the one.

My addition to this series is SABLE – Book 12. She’s Chance’s sister, whom we met in last year’s book. Sable is a pediatrician, and she’s sick and tired of being the go-to, dependable bridesmaid in all her family and friends’ weddings. But her demanding job, the ridiculous hours, and endless family commitments keep her from finding the perfect man. A matchmaking service? Sounds like too much work. Swipe right dating? Not her thing. The bar scene? When was the last time she even had an evening free to go to a bar?

And forget about dating the myriad of on-the-make doctors and residents in her hospital. Besides, workplace romances never work out.

Sable’s options to meet the man of her dreams and start a family are dwindling and time is running out, because she promised herself the next wedding she would attend would be her own.

Kristopher Lee, the Physician’s Assistant assigned to Sable has a crush on his new mentor. But she’s got a hands-off rule when it comes to dating someone she works with. Kris is nothing if not persistent, though. After all, he didn’t survive three tours in the Army without focusing on a goal. And making Sable Miller fall in love with him is his best goal yet.

SABLE releases on May 17th and you can preorder her story, here: BOOK 12

And here’s a little giftaway from me if you do preorder. Check out the rules in the graphic below – and if you comment here, below in the comment section, and send me your email addy, you’re entered!

Good luck, and happy reading!!!! ~ Peg

Who knew fake dating seem so…real?
From the upcoming CHANCE ( Last Man Series) addition:

Chance had the limo wait while he rode the elevator up to Freddie’s third-floor apartment. The building, a post-second world war brick edifice had seen some wear on the outside, but the interior was well-maintained and clean. No doorman stood duty so he located the apartment buzzer next to the name Poole, as she’d instructed, and once bid entry, found the single elevator.

The apartment door opposite the elevator opened as soon as he alighted from it.

“You must be Chance,” a woman he knew without a doubt was Freddie’s mother said. “I’m, Annika, Fredrika’s mother. She’s running a little late and asked me to greet you. Come in, come in.”

The apartment ran true to the original design. Railroad track rooms, one after the other off a long, spacious hallway. Hardwood floors that had seen many feet trample over them were, surprisingly, shiny, the wood glowing brightly. Photographs lined the hallway walls from one end to the other. He recognized a teenaged Freddie with her arm slung around a sullen, younger Lindsey.

“Well, look who it is. Mr. French Roast and a corn muffin.”

Chance grinned at the teen as she sashayed into the wide living room Annika had led him to.  At her side she held the hand of a small girl with red hair mimicking her mother’s and grandmother’s and startling blue eyes now wide with interest as they perused him from head to toe.

“You’re tall,” she told him. “I’m Dawn. I’m five.”

He crouched down in front of her and held out his hand. “How do you do, Dawn? I’m Chance. I’m thirty-nine.”

She glanced at his hand, but didn’t shake it, instead declaring, “You’re old.”

“I know,” he said, rising and sighing theatrically. A tiny tug pulled on his lips. “Some days it’s a wonder I can get out of bed.”

“Mommy says you’re taking her to a party.”

“I am.”

“And that I can’t come ‘cuz it’s a grown-up party. That’s not fair.”

“Life’s not fair, peanut,” Lindsey said as she lifted the child in her arms. “Get used to it while you’re young.”

“Lindsey Marie, the things you say.” Annika shook her head. To him, she said, “Fredrika will be right out. She got involved with something and lost track of the time. Would you like something to drink? We have water or I can offer you beer.”

“He drinks coffee, ma,” Lindsey said. “Buckets of it.” She rolled her eyes as she plopped down on the couch with Dawn still in her arms. The child giggled as they bounced.

“I’m fine, thanks,” he said.

“So, Fredrika tells me you’re a lawyer.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“I think I would have made a good lawyer,” she said, nodding, a smile tripping across her face. “I like a good argument.”

From the couch, he heard a muffled, “No lie,” and clamped down on the laugh that threatened to seep from him.

“Okay, I’m ready. Sorry.”

He turned and simply lost his breath.

Gone was the ponytailed, overall-wearing, sneaker-shod barista he’d come to know. A vision in deep green had taken her over.

The simple, short-sleeved dress fell from her shoulders to cascade in a simple line to her waist, then flared out to billow just below her knees. Since he’d only ever seen her hair pulled up and back, high on her head, he was shocked at how long it was hanging free and loose about her in a tumble of waves. She’d gone simple on her makeup but managed to look fresh and utterly alluring. A tiny-heeled shoe completed the outfit.

She’d never looked less like someone named Freddie.

“You look lovely,” he said, finally finding his tongue.

Releasing 9.12.2022.

#TeaserTuesday CHANCE (Last Man Standing) #preorder #cleanromance #Commitmentphobe

from the upcoming book, CHANCE releasing 9.12.2022

Chance opened his eyes and before he could look down and assess the damage done to his clothing found a pair of the most beautiful green eyes he’d ever seen gazing at him with worry creasing a perfect brow. A halo of copper-colored hair sat secured in a high ponytail, a pencil sticking out of the center of the knot. Skin the color of pale cream glowed with heath. A tiny depression in the center of the chin was so unexpected Chance found himself staring at it for a few beats before he lifted his gaze back to her eyes.

“I can’t believe she threw her coffee at you,” the woman said, shaking her head. She slammed a fist on her hip. “What a waste of six bucks. Thank goodness it was a cold brew. Here,” she shoved a stack of napkins at him. “I don’t have a proper towel to give you.  I still need to get supplies in. These will help, though, sop some of it up.”

The notion he should take the napkins drifted across his mind but he couldn’t manage to get his hands working. He was simply unable to do anything but stare at her. Covered in baggy blue overalls with a stark white t-shirt under then and white sneakers on her feet, she was the furthest thing from the type of woman he was usually drawn to. Six-foot models who were looking for a night on the town and free champagne cocktails were more his speed. But there was something so indescribably alluring about this woman dressed in clothes that did nothing for her, he simply couldn’t take his eyes off her.

A tiny head tilt as she stared at him and the subsequent slide of her ponytail to the side propelled Chance out of his stunned stupor. Blinking like he had ten eyelashes stuck under his lid he shook his head a few times then took the proffered napkins with a simple, “Thanks.”

While he began patting at his assuredly ruined suit, she asked, “Friend of yours?”

He barked out a laugh. “Hardly.”
