Updates, preorders, and positive support….oh my! ( heehee)

Feel like you’ve been dropped into the Wizard of Oz? No worries – you haven’t. It’s just me being silly. Coming up with post titles is as hard as coming up with book titles.

But I digress…

The purpose of today’s blog is to tell you a bit about my upcoming first Indie release IT’S A TRUST THING.

First, this is the second book in the DotComGirls series, with book 1 being DIRTY DAMSELS,

where you met best friends Ella Jones and Nell Newbery.

Second, It’s a Trust Thing is Nell’s story. Here’s a quick look at the book blurb:

Nell Newbery has trust issues. It’s hard to trust when you’re the daughter of a fallen financial scion who bilked people out of billions. Nell’s done everything in her power to keep away from men who see her as their ticket to fortune and fame. All she wants to do is run her ultra-successful business, HELPFUL HUNKS, in peace.

But it wouldn’t hurt to find a guy who doesn’t know a thing about her father’s felonious past; one she can give her heart to and trust it won’t come back to her battered, bruised, and broken.

Is Charlie Churchill that guy? On the surface he seems perfect, all polished manners and quiet mirth. Nell’s convinced he knows nothing about her, other than she likes superhero movies and views junk food as a food group.

Can she trust him to be what he appears to be? Or is he just pretending?

For Nell, trust is everything in life…and in love.

Third, the book will release on 11/1/19 and is exclusively offered in Kindle and KU ( No print books this time!) Who knows, though. Maybe, if I want to take the next step and up my learning curve to print on demand, I will. For now, digital only.

If this tickles your fancy in the book reading department, please go ahead and pre-order it here: IATT

And if you really want to do a nervous nelly of an author a favor – and that would be ME!! – ADD it to your Goodreads page as TO READ. Here’s the link for the book on Goodreads: IATT

This Sunday, 9.29.19, I’ll be blogging a Sunday Snippet about Nell, so drop by for a sneak peek. Oh, and because marketing never ends, I have a pinterest page devoted to the book and characters as well: PINTEREST

Before I get way too obnoxious, I’ll leave…

But if you’re looking for me, I’m usually here: Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me

Until next time ~ Peg

Why #IndependentBookstores are so near and dear to my heart….

I’ve talked a lot on this blog about how much I love the Independent bookstore I have in my town, THE TOADSTOOL BOOKSHOP.

The managers are so welcoming and supportive of local authors and arrange booksignings, author meet and greets, and fun events for the entire community, in addition to stocking local indie author books ( something the big name book retailers do not!)

This year, when I heard about Independent Bookstore Romance Day,  on August 17, 2019, I called The Toadstool in Keene and asked if they were doing anything to celebrate the event. At the time, they weren’t, mainly because they didn’t know,  but once I informed them about the celebratory day, the managers went into hyperdrive to plan something to commemorate the day. I shunted some of my favorite local romance authors their way, and before I could say #iloveromance, an event was up and running.

See? This is why I love the TOADSTOOL so much!

So, come join me and four other fabulous romance writers on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 4pm at the Toadstool Bookshop in Keene!

You can checkout the authors who’ll be featured at the event on their Amazon profile pages, here:

Angie Moran

Cheri Allen

Clair Brett

Amber Cross

Peggy Jaeger

I really hope I see a bunch of romance readers I know – and even more I haven’t met yet! – at the event. The Toadstool will be selling our books during and after the panel discussion, so click on the links above to see the books available. All of my print books are currently on sale at the Toadstool, but for the e-print only ones, you can find them here: 3 Wishes, Hope’s Dream, A Holiday PromiseFalling for You, and Be My Hero

A working vacation? Is that an oxymoron?

So if you can see the date in the bottom right hand corner of the above banner, you know my newest book, DIRTY DAMSELS,  released on 7.2.19, smack dab in the middle of my summer family vaca to England.

I didn’t know when the trip was planned and booked that I’d be having a release during the time away. And not only time away, but in another country. In another time zone. With lousy wifi ( Sorry, London, but it’s true).

Any hoo.

The day this book released my family went to Hampton Court to see where Henry VIII romped about, then to several other museums before finishing up at the Sherlock Holmes restaurant for dinner. (  I made dinner, but skipped the rest of the day because I had to be available for blogs and interviews during the day.)

Having a book published when you are, a: in a foreign country and, b: 5 hours ahead of home, was tough, to say the least. I spent 12 hours in my hotel room, glued to the computer and hoping the lousy wifi held. Luckily, it did. I didn’t have to reconnect and reboot more than twice, so thank you Jesus for that.

I was able to watch my Amazon rating all day during the release and I think this was my number one preordered seller yet. I guess I’ll know for sure once the royalty check comes in.

So the question my family asked that night as we all settled around the dinner table was, was it worth missing a great day of touristing to sit in the hotel during release day. I had to be honest and tell them…it was. A book is like a new baby. You want to be there for it, nurture it, watch it grow. In this case I was watching it grow in readership, but you get me, right? I’m not sure the extended members of my family did, but that’s okay.

Would I ever want to be away from home on holiday with another book release. Hell, no. Hopefully, this was a once in a lifetime thing. Or at least a once in a decade thing for me!

When I first saw Cynderella all covered in soot in that sexy maid uniform, I knew I wanted to be her Prince.

She’s a small and savvy businesswoman who’s built her cleaning company from the ground up. But now that Dirty Damsels is booming, I’ve been hired to arrange a hostile takeover.

But the temptation of having her was too much to ignore… We ended up spending one night together—a night neither of will forget. Now, I want more. I need more. I want to spend every night, skin-on-skin, with my beautiful Ella.

Problem is, when she finds out who I really am, she’ll never forgive me.

A new week, a new attitude, a new chapter in my life….

So, last Monday I published a pity party post ( say that 5 times fast. I dare ya!) titled The Struggle Is Real…

If you haven’t read it ( shame on you!) it detailed the mental and emotional struggle I’ve been gong thru lately with my writing career. It was written when I was tired, crabby, pitying myself over the non-Rita nomination I surely thought I was going to get this year, and I think some seasonal affect disorder syndrome whittled its way in there, too.

It’s amazing how much can change in just one week’s time.

I’ve been holding on to making this information public for a few days because I wanted to publicize it at the beginning of the week as a way to brighten the week ahead. Just when I thought my writing career was pretty much going nowhere fast, I got a new publishing contract from a new ( to me) publishing house, LIMITLESS PUBLISHERS. The name of the house means so much to me because I truly feel I have no limitations on me right now.

Again, what a change a week can make in one’s attitude.

After I wrote the pity party post I was notified I’m a finalist in the New England Reader’s Choice Awards for my newest book DEARLY BELOVED;

Last week I felt hopeless my career was never going to move forward. This week I know it will.

Last week I despaired that I’d make the wrong decision in ever retiring and devoting myself to writing full time. This week I am optimistic that the choice was the correct one for my mental and spiritual well being, especially when one of my short stories, THE HOUSE ON CRIMSON STREET was published in Long and Short Reviews.

Last week I bemoaned the fact that once again I didn’t become a finalist in an industry award. This week, the video of the OKRWA International Digital winners was put up on YouTube and my winning entry, COOKING WITH KANDY, is the first one listed.

Again, so much can change in a mere seven days.

God sure knew what she was doing when she made the world in just one week!

Smile, peeps. It’s the start of a new day…
