#SundaySnippet 11.4.18

For today’s entry we’re going old school. I currently have a pre-holiday sale running from Kensington/Lyrical at Amazon and Kobo for my entire WILL COOK FOR LOVE SERIES.

So why not give you a little snippet from the book that started it all, COOKING WITH KANDY?

Blurb:Sugar and spice and everything sexy make the perfect recipe for romance in this brand-new series by Peggy Jaeger. Look for exclusive recipes in each book!

Kandy Laine built her wildly popular food empire the old-fashioned way—starting with the basic ingredients of her grandmother’s recipes and flavoring it all with her particular brand of sweet spice. From her cookbooks to her hit TV show, Kandy is a kitchen queen—and suddenly someone is determined to poison her cup. With odd accidents and threatening messages piling up, strong-willed Kandy can’t protest when her team hires someone to keep her safe—but she can’t deny that the man for the job looks delicious. . .

Josh Keane is a private investigator, not a bodyguard. But with one eyeful of Kandy’s ebony curls and dimpled smile, he’s signing on to uncover who’s cooking up trouble for the gorgeous chef. As the attraction between them starts to simmer, it’s not easy to keep his mind on the job, but when the strange distractions turn to true danger, he’ll stop at nothing to keep Kandy safe—and show her that a future together is on the menu. . .

Snippet:

Kandy’s feet pummeled the treadmill as she increased the pace through the mountain-climbing program.

She needed this run to clear her head. Last night’s events had left her shaken and confused.

Shaken? Ha! Scared witless was more like it.

The phone message had been disturbing and frightening, sure, but the feel of Josh Keane’s arms around her, warming her and giving comfort, had been overwhelming. The titanium-steel hardness of his chest when she’d buried her face into it had not only reassured, but aroused her.

Completely.

She couldn’t remember ever being so turned on just by being held. The feel of him, the actual sensation of his rock-hard body against hers as he held her, gently, was more powerful than any seductive touch could have been.

Josh kept pace with her on the adjoining treadmill. She had her iPod plugged in and ran to the beat of the music. Josh ran music-free, his rhythm steady as he tore through his own preprogrammed routine. Kandy glanced over to check his status to see he’d also selected a mountain run. His stride was much wider than hers, though, his pace almost double.

The ceiling-mounted television in front of them was on and cued to the early morning news. She tried to keep her gaze fixed on the screen, or in front of her, or anywhere that wasn’t on him. Watching those powerful, muscle-laden calves and thighs go through their pace was almost too much to handle. Not to mention the way his T-shirt fit snugly across his ripped-to-godlike-perfection chest and those broad, corded arms, showing and defining all the toned muscle groups beneath it.

No, it was too much to watch.

He wouldn’t be around forever to distract her like this. He’d find out what was going on and then be off to his next job, which was for the best. She had too much to do, too much that needed her undivided attention, to be sidetracked by this gorgeous man following her and watching her every move.

Kandy had no time to worry about things she couldn’t control, like this supposed harasser. She’d tried ignoring the incidents away, tried to convince Stacy it was nothing. Now she had to contend with an outsider going through her friends’ and family’s personal business.

Josh claimed he wouldn’t disturb her life in any way, but he already had just with his presence. In one day he’d insinuated himself into her home, her life. Even her head.

And she just wasn’t sure how she felt about it.

An #AuthorInterview with Debby Grahl

Lately, I’ve been featuring new-to-me-authors who happen to write for the Wild Rose Press – as do I. Today, I’ve got another newbie, but by no means a new author. Just check out her Amazon author page and you’ll see what I mean. Let me introduce you to Debby Grahl, who has  new book coming out soon titled HIS MAGIC TOUCH – and isn’t that a great title?! Debby agreed to be interviewed by me and she’s also giving us all a little peek at her new book, so sit back and learn a few things about this prolific author.

Here’s Debby.

Debby Grahl, the Writer

  1. What drives you to write?

I have a disease of the retina called Retinitis Pigmentosa which causes gradual vision loss. I lost the ability to read in my early twenties, but even when I had sight, seeing the printed word was always difficult for me. Reading a book would take me twice as long as  a person with normal sight. I became frustrated with this and  began to make up my own stories. It wasn’t until the invention of computers and wonderful screen reading software that I was able to put my stories into words. Everything I type is read back to me aloud. This enables me to do my research, use the online dictionary, post on Google Plus and Facebook. This has truly opened a new window of opportunity for me.

  1. What genre(s) of Romance do you write, and why?

I write both contemporary and paranormal romance. I’ve always liked reading books with ghosts and witches.  In writing, I like using them because they’re so versatile. You can have nice or mean ghosts.  You can have those who can be seen or not. I also enjoy using ghosts of historical characters. My witches are normal people with different levels of power. With contemporary books, I like to set them in interesting places. Rue Toulouse and His Magic Touch are set in New Orleans. My work in progress, Mountain Fire, takes place outside of Asheville NC.

  1. What genre(s) of Romance do you read, and why?

Again, I love paranormal books with ghosts and witches. I’m a history nut and love visiting England, so Regency books are a must read for me. I love reading the queens of mystery cozies: Agatha Christy, Ngaio Marsh, and Dorothy L Sayers.

  1. What’s your writing schedule? Do you write every day?

I do my best writing early in the morning. I usually get up around five-thirty, work out, then start writing. If the words are flowing, I’ve been known to  write nonstop until dinner time.

  1. Give us a glimpse of the surroundings where you write. Separate room? In the kitchen? At the dining room table?

A few years ago I had back surgery. Recovering at home, I found my desk chair too uncomfortable. I discovered sitting in the love seat with my feet up worked best for me. I got so used to this, I still write with my feet up.

  1. Are you the kind of writer who needs total quiet to compose, or are you able to filter out the typical sounds of the day and use your tunnel-vision?

No, not at all. I get distracted too easily if there’s any kind of noise or commotion around me.

  1. Do you listen to music while you write, and if so, what kind? If not, why not?

Sometimes I listen to  a certain kind of music to get me in the mood, such as Cajun or jazz if my story takes place in New Orleans. Normally though, I find music to be too distracting. I find myself singing along and not writing. I’m amazed at the number of authors who write with music blasting.

  1. How did you come up with the plotline/idea for your current WIP?

My husband and I love to visit New Orleans. It was while we were there for a conference which took place in a historical hotel known to be haunted that the idea for His Magic Touch was born. (Peggy interjecting here: I lovelovelove New Orleans, too!)

  1. Which comes first for you – character or plot? And why?

The plot. I choose my setting, outline the story, then add the characters.

  1. What 3 words describe you, the writer?

Determined, imaginative, disciplined.

Debby, the Gal

Tell us one unusual thing about yourself – not related to writing! I met my husband doing Civil War reenacting.

Who was your first love and what age were you? Boy I’m going to be giving my age away, but my first love was an actor named Ben Murphy. I was thirteen when Alias Smith and Jones was on TV and I didn’t miss an episode. (Peggy here – sorry I keep interrupting but I LOVED THAT SHOW, too!!!!)

If you could relive one day, which one would it be? Think GROUNDHOG DAY, the movie for this one – you’ll have to live it over and over and….This is a hard one, but I think it would have to be the day I received my first book contract. After going through so many rejections, finally receiving an offer was the most incredible experience.

Do you like a guy in boxers, briefs, or commando? LOL! Commando!

If you had to give up one necessary-can’t-live-without-it beauty item, what would it be? Dyeing my hair.

What three words describe you, the person? Loving, courteous, energetic.

If you could sing a song with Jimmy Fallon, what would it be? I Did It My Way

If you could hang out with any literary character from any book penned at any time line, who would it by, why, and what would you do together? Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. She could teach me magic and how to go back in time.

Bonus round

I love the Actor’s Studio show on Bravo, so this is my version of it:

  1. Favorite sound: ocean waves.
  2. Least favorite sound: an animal is distress.
  3. Best song every written: I am woman. Hear me roar! (Peggy again – I adore Helen Redy!)
  4. Worst song ever written: Tip Toe through the Tulips.
  5. Favorite actor and actress Who would you want to be for 1 day and why? ( It can be anyone living or dead): Katherine Hepburn. I loved her style and personality.
  6. What turns you on? A good looking man, slow sexy music, and a crackling fire
  7. What turns you off? Overbearing pushy men.
  8. Give me the worst 5 words ever heard on a first date ( here’s mine: “Is that your real hair?”): How can you eat that?
  9. What’s your version of a perfect day? A day in which everything goes smoothly!

HIS MAGIC TOUCH

The night before Jared Dupre’s wedding, a spectre warns him that the demonic witch, Adam Montief, has kidnapped his brother, threatening  to kill both him and Jared’s fiancée, Kendra O’Connell, in a centuries-old vendetta Jared knows nothing about. A powerful witch himself, Jared tracks Adam from New Orleans to a remote island off the coast of Connecticut. A sword fight ensues where a final thrust of Jared’s blade sends Adam over the cliff into the sea below.

But when Jared returns to New Orleans, he finds a triumphant Adam alive and intent on seducing Kendra. Kendra, not knowing Jared was forced to break off their engagement to save her life, has turned to a new man, unaware he’s Adam who has vowed to kill the man she truly loves.

With help from his grandmother’s spirit, Jared discovers the motive behind the Montiefs’ vengeance, while fighting to win back Kendra before she is drawn into Adam’s world of sadistic evil and assure Adam’s final destruction .

Excerpt

In the stifling heat, Angelique Montief flicked her wrist and set the bamboo ceiling fan spinning. Kneeling on a woven mat with sweat coating her body, she lifted a small wooden brass-bound casket from the bottom of a large trunk, inserted a gold key, and opened the lid. Inside two objects lay wrapped in thick cloth. She carefully unwrapped the smaller bundle to reveal a pentagonal mirror, a gift handed down to her by her grandmother, its ancient oak frame carved with tiny pentacles.

She glanced over her shoulder at her locked bedroom door, then stared into the mirror and whispered, “Show him to me.”When the glass remained blank, fear clutched at her chest. Again, she said the words, and the image of a plantation house engulfed in flames appeared. “No, please, he can’t be dead. ”Tears blurred her vision. The fiery image changed to reveal a human form lying beneath flowering bougainvillea. “Show me his face.”

She saw his indigo blue eyes blink open.

“I’m coming, my love.”

She rewrapped the mirror and placed it into the smaller casket among cloth bags of herbs and potion-filled vials. Relocking the lid, she hung the key on a chain around her neck, dropped a jeweled dagger into her pocket, and tucked the casket under her arm.

Augustus had locked her in, placing what he thought would be an impenetrable shield across both doors. Her husband’s biggest mistake was underestimating her.

November is here – that means #NANOWRIMO time!

November 1st is a mere two days away and the month kinda snuck up on me this year. I’ve been so busy with all my upcoming releases this month and next, I haven’t done any NANOWRIMO prep yet.

Now, I know you’re thinking that NANOWRIMO is supposed to be a spontaneous writing exercise, where you sit down every day in November and simply write – no editing, no going over what you have written, no correcting any mistakes. Just a month of free-writing your newest book. And it is, just that, for the most part. But I’ve typically done some kind of prep for the month either in planning out where I want the story to ultimately end up, or at least making a Pinterest board of what I think my characters look like so I have a handy and quick visual reference if I need it. And I’m a plotter by nature. This writing-by-the-seat-of-your-pants thing is so…not me.

But this year, as I’ve said…no prep, no plot, no plan.

I’m starting out fresh when I sit down on 11.1.18 to begin writing my 50,000 word minimum. Every year for the past 5 years I’ve done NANOWRIMO and I’ve actually gone on to have all those books traditionally published, so that’s the hope for this year as well. I’m being truthful when I tell you I’m a little nervous about this.

Nervous? Hell, let’s be totally honest: I’m friggin’ terrified!

Stay tuned. We’ll see what happens…

And if you’re doing NANOWRIMO this year and need a writing “buddy,” I’ll help. Add me to you Buddy List. I’m listed under Margaret-Mary Jaeger.

When I’m not obsessing over NANOWRIMO or out doing the publicity tours for my new releases, you’ll find me wiling away the hours here:  Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me//Google+Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me

In just one week my addition to the new series from Wild Rose Press, HOPE’S DREAM ( Deerbourne Inn Novella) goes livelivelive!

I can’t wait to share this story with you all. It’s the second book released in the series and continues the storyline of the Vermont inn and the people of the tiny town of Willow Springs.

Working two jobs and caring for her mother leaves the twenty-seven-year-old with no time for fun or relationships. When a law firm representing her paternal grandparents sends her several letters, Hope ignores them. She despises the family who disowned her father and wants nothing to do with them.

Lawyer Tyler Coleman’s job is simply to obtain Hope’s signature on a legal document. Getting it is harder than planned, though, when an unexpected attraction blossoms between them. If Ty is honest with Hope about why he’s in Willow Springs, he’ll fulfill his assignment but may risk hurting her.

The opportunity to have everything she’s ever desired is at Hope’s fingertips. Will her dream come true at the expense of Tyler’s love?

Presenting, my friend and talented #author, Mona Sedrak

Today is a real treat for me. Three years ago I attended my first NJRWA conference and met this lovely lady I’m about to introduce you to. We sat together in a Margie Lawson masterclass and just clicked! I’ve watched her writing career grow and flourish since then, and now I am proud to call her one of my dear Wild Rose Press sistahs! Mona Sedrak is a fabulous, lyrical, and emotional writer and her new book SIX MONTHS will have you crying and simultaneously cheering. I could wax on for hours about her writing style and how she treats a very emotional subject, but I think I’ll let her tell you all a little about herself and her book, instead.

Here’s my friend, Mona Sedrak, in her own words.

Mona, The Writer

  1. What drives you to write?

Writing has always been an outlet for me––it allows me to express myself and make sense of my world. In many ways, writing is freeing. When I write, I leave the world I live in and enter a new world of my creation. I enjoy writing stories that emulate the real world and the challenges women and men encounter and overcome. I am a huge romantic and really believe love can conquer all.

  1. What genre(s) of Romance do your write, and why?

I mainly write contemporary/ sweet romance. Writing about strong women, their families, and the men in their lives comes naturally. While romance is at the center of every story I write, my books are a highly emotional ride that portray the importance of family bonds and treasured friendships.

  1. What genre(s) of Romance do you read, and why?

I am an avid reader and I read just about everything in the romance genre–– from historical to MC novels, to the occasional erotic romance. I love getting lost in a well-build story with fully developed characters and storylines that keep me turning the page. My favorite books are those that give readers a good laugh and a good cry.

  1. What’s your writing schedule? Do you write everyday?

I try to write every day, but I don’t always succeed. Some days, after I get home from my day job, my energy level only goes as far as social media and email. Other days, the words flow. Weekends are my big writing days and I usually write 5000-6000 a week.

  1. Give us a glimpse of the surroundings where you write. Separate room? In the kitchen? At the dining room table?

In February I moved to a new house where I set up a writing room. The room is on the second floor, tucked in the corner of the house. I like to write in silence and this room is perfect. I have a small, antique writing desks and a rather large leather chair. The room has a large window that invites the sun in and warms the room. I bought a fabulous floor to ceiling, multi-sectional bookcase from Ikea a month ago and it stretches from wall to wall holding all my treasures. I love the room and most days I write in there. Some days, however, I write best in the family room in an oversized chair with my dog at my feet or even at Starbucks with noise-cancelling headphones.

  1. Are you the kind of writer who needs total quiet to compose, or are you able to filter out the typical sounds of the day and use your tunnel-vision?

I need silence so I can hear my characters in my head, uninterrupted by the surrounding world. If the house is noisy, I wear Bose noise-cancelling headphones and listen to white-noise.

  1. Do you listen to music while you write, and if so, what kind? If not, why not? I don’t listen to music while I write, but I often find inspiration by lyrics while I drive, cook, etc…

8. How did you come up with the plotline/idea for your current WIP?

My current WIP is titled – Gravity. It is actually one of the most difficult stories I have ever written. The story is based on my middle eastern culture. It is a contemporary romance of a woman who makes a mistake and breaks cultural norms. She is shunned by her family and has to start her life anew.

  1. Which comes first for you – character or plot? And why?

Plot always comes first. I can’t imagine with just starting with a character without the guts of the story at least imagined. I don’t always know the road the characters will travel, but I know the struggles they will face.

  1. What 3 words describe you, the writer? Emotional, descriptive, multi-layered (Peggy Here: I think those are perfect descriptions for her as a writer!)

Mona, the Gal

Tell us one unusual thing about yourself – not related to writing!

I was born in Cairo, Egypt and learned how to speak English by watching General Hospital and One Life to Live.

Who was your first love and what age were you?

My husband was my first and only love. I met him when I was nineteen and married when I was twenty. We have been married for 32 years. ( Peggy here: awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww)

If you could relive one day, which one would it be? Think GROUNDHOG DAY, the movie for this one – you’ll have to live it over and over and….

That’s an easy one…the day I first saw my husband’s face. It was also the day I publicly broke with a man I was seeing at a family function with about 50 people. The break up was completely unplanned, and I actually had no idea my future husband was in the room. We never said a single word to each other and our eyes never even met. But looking back at it now, there are a few things I may have done differently.

Do you like a guy in boxers, briefs, or commando?

Really? I’ll never tell and why must I choose? (Good point, my friend!)

If you had to give up one necessary-can’t-live-without-it beauty item, what would it be?

Eye-brow pencil…I’m aging, and you know what happens when you age? You learn to draw them babies in!

What three words describe you, the person? Introvert, realist, romantic

If you could sing a song with Jimmy Fallon, what would it be?

Who’s Jimmy Fallon? IDK – Shakira’s – Hips Don’t Lie. Cause – why not and it’s ridiculous.

If you could hang out with any literary character from any book penned at any time line, who would it by, why, and what would you do together?

Scarlet O’Hara – I’ve always loved her character and the transition from child to adult. She was selfish and selfless, and she could definitely be a prima donna, but could also role up her sleeves and work. The girl had grit. I think we would dress in beautiful gowns, sip sweet tea, stroll around Tara, and say, “I’ll think about that tomorrow.”

Bonus round

I love the Actor’s Studio show on Bravo, so this is my version of it:

Favorite sound: waves crashing on the shore

Least favorite sound: nails on a chalkboard

Best song every written: “You Raise Me Up”

Worst song ever written: “I like big butts and I cannot lie.”

Favorite actor and actress: Robert Redford, Barbara Streisand

Who would you want to be for 1 day and why? (It can be anyone living or dead): Okay – this may be weird, but I thought a lot about this, and there isn’t anyone I would want to be for a day. I am blessed in so many ways. I have an amazing husband of 32 years, two beautiful children and a sweet grandchild and tons of great friends. I wouldn’t want to miss even one day with the people I love. that would be one day I could never get back.

What turns you on? I’m a simple girl, quiet nights, good wine, warm cuddle with a man who loves me.

What turns you off? Pretentious, disingenuous behavior.

Give me the worst 5 words ever heard on a first date ( here’s mine: “Is that your real hair?”): “I live with my mother.”

What’s your version of a perfect day?

I would love to have all my family in a tropical location…an easy beach day with everyone doing whatever they like. Enjoying good food, family, friends…loving each other, counting our blessings.

SIX MONTHS

For twenty years, Mikala Jacobson had it all: loyal friends, a precious little girl, and a man who adores her. Then double tragedy strikes and her perfect world shatters. Good friends, Rena and Jake are instantly by her side, protecting her from her husband David’s sordid secret life and his final drunken confession.

With their help, Mikala finds strength to rebuild and redefine her life. As her spirit and heart heal, she not only finds closure, but the beauty of a new love built upon an old friendship.

Excerpt
Wandering from room to room, she memorized every detail of the life she and David built––the family photos lining the mantel, the hand-carved jewelry box David bought her on their honeymoon in Salzburg, and Molly’s tea set arranged on the coffee table for evening tea. A cold, hollow ache took residence in her belly where the knot of dread made its appearance that morning. The sensation expanded with alarming speed, dug in deep, and planted roots. Like an unwanted guest appearing without warning and bringing too many bags for just a brief visit, sorrow moved in, shifted, and stretched then got comfortable for the long haul.

When the house line rang, Mikala froze, and her gaze darted to the cordless on the couch. Her breath stuttered. Her heart seized. Clarity forced its way past the tentacles of sheer terror strangling, dominating, and paralyzing her. She shook her head and took a step forward, only to be hit by a wave of dizziness and nausea so tremendous, she doubled over wrapping her arms around her womb. Mikala’s entire being, inside and out, shook as her heart tumbled about in her chest without a set time, tempo, or rhythm. Her breaths grew shallow and choppy, and her legs turned to rubber. The cord tethering Molly to her and this world had been severed.

The telephone rang four times before Mikala forced her body to cooperate. God, she hadn’t wanted to answer. She hadn’t wanted to know. She’d even considered not answering, protecting herself and her beautiful family from the annihilation of their world.

People said she was strong––the strongest woman they knew. They said in time she would heal. She would build another life. And God didn’t give you more than you could handle. People were idiots. They had no idea how in her head she raged. She howled, and shrieked, and wailed…and begged, and pleaded for mercy. All day. All night. Every day. Every night.

#SundaySnippet & a #booksale 10.28.18

In honor of A KISS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS being on sale for just 99 cents until 11/8/18 ( ebook only), I’m giving you another glimpse into the San Valentino family today. To the San Valentino’s, family is everything. Even when they bicker, they love one another to no end.

During the drive home from church, Mama told me I’d missed Fr. Santini’s introduction of himself while I’d been in poop-ville with Arianna.

“He’s one of ten kids.” She checked her image in the car mirror again as she had when we’d driven to church. “Three brothers, six sisters. Three sets of twins. Ten pregnancies. Madre di Dio, that poor woman’s insides.”

“I had ten pregnancies,” Nonna said with pride in her craggy voice. “She only had seven, ’cause the twins count as one each.” Okay, pride and a little splash of maternity one-upmanship. “My doctor says I got insides that look like shredded wheat,” she added, with a smug- filled smirk.

This was way too much information for me.

“So, a big family?” I said to the back of Mama’s head, hoping she’d take the hint and keep talking so we’d all be spared Nonna’s pregnancy horror tales.

“Yeah. One brother’s in construction, and one manages a restaurant downtown. He’s got a sister who’s a nun, too. They’re a very holy family.”

“I wanted to be a nun,” Nonna declared.

“You did not.” Mama turned her head to face her mother.

Si, Francesca. E la verita. It’s true. I wanted to join the Little Order of the Flower. I loved the order, and the nuns were very popular in my province. So holy, so pure. All the boys back in the village were wild for me, though, and my papa needed money for the farm, so since I was the oldest girl, he married me off to your papa for two cows and a herd of goats.”

“Guess who got the better part of that deal,” Daddy said under his breath, forgetting the stealth-hearing Nonna possesses. From the backseat, and without any regard to the fact he was driving and could crash and kill us all, she clapped him on the back of his head so hard her palm turned beet red from the force.

“Hey!” Daddy rubbed his hand along his skull.

“It’s your own fault,” Mama said without a drop of sympathy and then reapplied her lipstick.

“She hits me again she’s going in the room next to Uncle Vito at the home.”

Nonna’s eyes narrowed to slitty little lines, and I know she was planning some kind of silent revenge on Daddy.

Nonna never wasted a malocchio.

What do you click on? #MFRWauthor week 43

The prompt for this week’s blog is MY FAVORITE APP.

Until about 4 years ago I didn’t even know what an app was. I thought it was an abbreviation all the cool kids were using for appetizer or appointment. No lie!

Now I know what it means ( I think!) so I really am in with the cool kids. I will admit I had to email my daughter before writing this blog just to make sure I was getting the APP definition correct.

Hi. My name is Peggy and I’m tech-NO-savvy.

If you’ve ever read my blog posts – not just the MFRWAuthor ones on Fridays – you know I typically sign off with a cutsie saying and then this:

Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me//Google+Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me

I feel like I need a self-help group when I say that.
Me: Hi. My name is Peggy and I’m a Pinner.
The group: Hi Peggy!
Hee hee.
Truly though, there is nothing more fun for me to do when I want to waste ( not a good word choice, peeps) an hour trolling through all kinds of celebrity pix, holiday themed gifts, DYI stuff, even book recommendations.  Recently, I took my mother to the hospital to have her first cataract surgery and I brought my iPad with me because I knew I had a couple of hours of waiting ahead of me. The entire time she was in pre-op holding, through the surgery, and until her ophthalmologist came and brought me to her room, I was pinning.
Here’s a secret – and I’m totally outing myself here: while I was writing this blog piece, I was scrolling through Pinterest boards looking for cute apron sayings for an upcoming book about a an InnKeeper. This is the board I was saving everything to: Maureen’s Aprons.
Maybe I really do need a support group: P.A. (Pinners Anonymous)
Hee hee
Let’s see what favorite apps the other bloggers in the group like best: MFRWauthor
And at the chance of being redundant: When I’m not pinning you can find me here: Tweet Me//Read Me// Visit Me//Picture Me//Pin Me//Friend Me//Google+Me// Triber// BookMe // Monkey me //Watch me
Hee. Hee.

A little #preHoliday #booksale #99cents

So excited to announce that Gia San Valentino’s story is on sale ( ebook only) until 11.8.18 from The Wild Rose Press. If you plan on reading CHRISTMAS AND CANNOLIS when it releases on 12.12.18, read this one first!! Both books are stand alones ( you don’t have to read one to know what’s going on in the other) but Gia’s story was so much fun to write because it’s a mistaken identity trope!

Here are the buy links for A KISS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS.  99 cent sale is on now, until 11.8.18 so order yours today!

And the #winner is……

We’ve all been waiting with bated breath, well…maybe not all. I certainly have though, for the announcement of the number one voted upon book on the GREAT AMERICAN READ LIST. Last night’s episode finally revealed the winner? You can watch it in its entirety here.

Did you have a favorite? Did you vote for it? I did. I had a hard time making up my mind about the number one book, but I did.

Many of you may have read my post from yesterday about the library sale I recently attended where I scored a major coup by finding many of the books on the list. I plan on starting to read those book soon, I just have to get through my own book releases in the next 8 weeks. Hee hee.

You can visit PBS to see how the books numbered in the voting from 100-1, but here are the top 5:

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Harry Potter by J.R. Rowling

Isn’t it interesting that 2 of the top five are ROMANCE NOVELS?? Publishers, please take note!

So, without any further wordiness from yours truly,  Drumroll, please…….

The book voted upon the by reading public to earn the title of the Number One GREAT AMERICAN READ is… TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD – just as I predicted!

I have to tell you that TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD took the number 1 spot on  the first week of voting and never moved from its position in all the weeks that voting continued. That’s a true testament to how wonderful a book it is.

Well, I’m off to….wait for it…..read! Surprised?

hee hee.
