BAKED WITH LOVE is a Creme de la Cover contest finalist!!!

On this brutally cold Sunday morning in New England ( -10 at my house!) I woke up to some wonderful news. My cover for BAKED WITH LOVE is up for InD’Tale’s monthly cover contest, CREME de la Cover! YOWZA!

In order to make it to the finals I need readers to vote for the cover, so I’m providing the link. You need to set up a quick account with InD’Tale to vote. I just did and it took less than 5 seconds.

I’d really appreciate any and all support for this. The winner gets advertising space in their magazine – which is expensive and something I’ve never been able to budget for.

So, if you have a moment, I’d appreciate your vote! And the cover designer, Diana Carlile, deserves the win, too!! Here’s the link: CdlC

Thank, oodles, Peg

Voting is open…no, not for President! For me – and a whole bunch of fabulous authors!

Hey – exciting news, peeps. Voting is open now for the SEMI-FINALISTS in the RAVEN AWARDS and DIRTY DAMSELS is up in two categories: Favorite Cover and then in the Contemporary category, so you can vote twice for me ( if you want to!)

Many of my Wild Rose Sisters are also in the running, but luckily none of them are in the contemporary category with me!!! So I don’t feel disloyal, cuz I voted for them in their categories.

Here’s the link: RAVEN AWARDS

I’m in the first 2 categories. Just scroll down until you see this:

Click the bubble next to my title and then scroll down and hit VOTE!!!

This is the cover up for the award:

Bless you all!!! I’ll let you know how the voting goes. You can vote daily until 7.12.2020!! And again, bless you!

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, does that mean a book cover is too?

Since I decided to self-pub IT’S A TRUST THING and I knew I had no real money to invest in a professional graphic book designer, I decided to try my hand at making my own book cover. Since I already do so much graphic stuff for book ads and for this blog, I thought it might be fun.

And it was.

It was also harrowing, mind boggling, and at times, infuriating. What makes a good, eye catching book cover to me, may not necessarily mean it does to you. Plus, since it’s a romance there are things that have to be incorporated into the cover so people who are glancing through Amazon new releases see it for what it is and not say, a murder mystery.

Here are a few of the covers I made before I decided on the one I finally put up: Oh, and the original title of the book was HELPFUL HUNKS, the name of Nell’s business. Since I didn’t talk too much about her business in the book, I figured it would be misleading to call it that.

So I liked this one until a friend of mine pointed out the lousy job ( my word, not hers!) I did of cutting and pasting the couple on the Brooklyn Bridge. I wanted the bridge on the cover because an important plot point concerns it, but with the lousy job I did of C/P I realized it looked sloppy.

I wanted this cover because it matched DIRTY DAMSELS, and kept the branding of the series intact. See:

But again, the sloppy cut and paste was glaring in this one.

I loved this cover when the title was Helpful hunks, but it didn’t fit in with the branding again, so I opted to use it in ads for the book instead. But I still love this cover!

This is the one I finally decided on because the background was black and I didn’t have to do any sloppy cutting and pasting to get the couple front and center.

It goes along with the theme of Dirty Damsels in the fonts and with the couple embracing. It’s not as sexy as the DD cover, but that’s okay with me.

Now, I just need to know if the cover “SPEAKS” to romance book buyers!

Preorder is up here: It’s a Trust Thing

The book is also available in Kindle Unlimited for those subscribers as well.

Happy reading, folks!! Hope you like my cover and the story.

Until next time ~ Peg

The Doors of #RWA2018

Many years ago when I visited my daughter in Ireland where she was studying, I came upon a poster in a local shop called the Doors of Dublin.

This is my version of that famous poster featuring many of the decorated elevator doors at the Sheraton Downtown hotel where RWA 2018 was held. RWA has been shrink-wrapping the elevator doors in hotels for years and it’s a fabulous marketing tool for the authors who are lucky enough to be able to afford it. I’m not at that tier yet but….someday.

Obviously, I couldn’t put every elevator door poster in this blog, but believe me when I tell you – there were a lot of them and every one was sosososo cool!

I have photos from past years of these elevators, too, so I think that I’ll put together a poster like the Doors of Dublin and see if I become famous like the photographer who put that collection together did!

Just think’ aloud, peeps.

#CoverReveal A SHOT AT LOVE; #KensingtonPublishers #ContemporaryRomance

I’m sosososososo excited ( again I sound like the Pointer Sisters!) because the second book cover for my WILL COOK FOR LOVE series is being revealed today and here it is:

Book 2 features Kandy Laine’s sexy, sassy, and smart, photographer sister, Gemma. Kandy makes a few appearances in the book as well, but the heat that screams from the pages is all about Gemma and uber-hot FBI SPecial Agent Ky Pappandreos. Here’s the blurb:

A SHOT AT LOVE
by Peggy Jaeger
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pub Date: 10/3/2017
Nothing’s impossible when love is on the menu. In Peggy Jaeger’s luscious series, the only thing more tempting than a delicious meal is a truly delectable romance . . .
Look for exclusive recipes in each book!
Photographer Gemma Laine is looking for arresting faces on the streets of Manhattan when her camera captures something shocking—a triple murder. In that moment, she becomes a target for the mob—and a top priority for a very determined, breathtakingly handsome, FBI special agent. With deadlines to meet and photo shoots on her calendar, Gemma chafes at the idea of protection, but every moment she spends under his watchful eye is a temptation to lose herself in his muscular arms . . .
With two of his men and one crucial witness dead, Special Agent Kyros Pappandreos can’t afford to be distracted. But Gemma is dazzling—and her connection to Kandy Laine’s high-profile cooking empire makes her an especially easy mark for some very bad people. Keeping her safe is much more pleasure than business, but as the heat between them starts to sizzle, Ky is set to investigate whether they have a shot at love . . .
